Machining in the garage is only as complicated as you make it. In a upcoming series of articles we will discuss the basics of Mill work and Lathe work.
Right now though if you are serious about setting up a garage Hackerspace (machine shop) I would highly encourage you to buy a copy of the Machinery’s Handbook and its supporting book the Machinery’s Handbook Guide. The version is really not relevant to be honest with you just get matching books. For those of you who decide to purchase the 29th edition make sure you get the Improved Paper version. I have had a copy of this guide in the top of my toolbox for the better part of 20 years. It is certainly the type of reference that will last you your life time.
